Intermediate Workshop Teaches How to Take Better Photos of Nature

PETIT JEAN MOUNTAIN, Ark. (April 21, 2010) — Photography enthusiasts who love the outdoors can take a workshop that teaches them how to unlock the full potential of their digital single-lens reflex cameras to capture stunning photos of nature.

Winthrop Rockefeller Institute will offer “Nature Photography: Finding the Extraordinary in the Ordinary” from June 11-13. Taught by Todd Johnson – a professional graphic artist, illustrator and photographer – this intermediate course will take greater advantage of the options available with DSLR cameras.

During the two-day workshop, outdoor excursions on Petit Jean Mountain will provide an opportunity to photograph natural subjects, while indoor instruction will focus on digital imaging; lenses; and printing in regard to resolution, inks and paper. Participants are expected to review their cameras’ instruction manuals and shoot using their own DSLR and equipment.

Winthrop Rockefeller Institute will offer “Nature Photography: Finding the Extraordinary in the Ordinary” from May 7-9.The cost of the workshop is $160 per person, which includes materials, all meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.
