The Arts and Humanities program area develops partnerships and supports initiatives that promote the stewardship of our cultural heritage and give Arkansans more opportunities to experience and celebrate the value of creative expression.
The arts were important to Governor Winthrop Rockefeller, who helped launch the Arkansas Arts Center in 1963 and continued to support the arts throughout his life. Arts and humanities programming at the Institute encompasses visual, literary, and culinary arts and the cultural history of the state and region.
